Extremely fine Snowmass Nova son!
Moonacre Montano
Alpaca, Huacaya, Herdsire (Male) | Medium Brown
AOA #30964457 | DOB: 8/12/2008 (17 yrs)
Sire: Snowmass Nova
30964457<--ari-->TB<--color-->"What can be said about Nova other than the fact that there just aren't that many black alpacas that even approach what he represents. His fineness and density put the vast majority of white animals to shame. A true elite black Herdsire".
It's true, this guy carries white quality fiber in black. He has the best density of any black animal I've ever put my hands on. And his conformation is perfect.
Now a bit about Nova's progeny; as of 10/27/06, Nova has 90 registered offspring. Of these 90, at least 31 have placed at shows nationwide (these statistics are far from comprehensive). Of these 31 ribbon winners, 18 have at least 1 blue ribbon. Those are pretty good odds!

I fell in love with Talulla while visiting a local farm. I had just returned from a buying trip down south and was having trouble making a decision on an animal. I took one look at Talulla's knockout color and striking poise and knew I had to have her. She has a luxurious fleece, lengthy staple and lovely high amplitude, high frequency crimp with lots of shine. And a topknot to die for all in my second favorite color (the first is black of course). I could go on and on......there's so much about this girl that's right. It's funny, I make this buying trip each year and each year I end up buying girls from my own backyard, go figure.
7/11/06 Talulla gave birth to Garrison's Gable. What a gorgeous boy, now she's off to be bred to Nova. This is gonna be a long 11 months....
7/19/07 Talulla has done it again! A gorgeous girl by Snowmass Nova. Looks like she's bay black! We like the results so much we're going to repeat the breeding.
8/12/08 Once again Talulla has hit the mark. Moonacre Montano is an exceptional Nova son. Best we've ever had;)
6/3/10 Talulla has yet to disappoint us. This Absolute cria is spectacular! Moonacre Absolute Matilda is a bit darker than her Nova brother Montano and finer and has MORE density. Both are wicked consistent in terms of micron across the fleece.

Description
3/2009 Montano, aka "Tommy", gets better each time we look at him. His fleece has a low scale, silky handle with incredible shine. It exhibits a high amplitude, high frequency crimp along a lengthy staple and bundles beautifully (the photo does not begin to do it justice).
Tommy's conformation is solid, square and well proportioned with a nice large bone, straight legs and great presence.
Our two BEST Nova cria born within 4 days of each other. Good thing they're different colors or we'd be hard pressed to tell them apart. They are the proverbial "Two Peas in a Pod" and inseparable. Talulla gave birth right after morning chores and I know this sounds crazy but as I was helping her cria to the ground I ran my hand over it's belly praying "Please be a Boy, please be a Boy". We've been blessed with 4 Nova daughters thus far and while I'm not complaining in the least, I really wanted a boy from this breeding. Our prayers were answered and he's so nice we don't even mind that he's the wrong shade of black. Dense, fine, bright and crimpy best describes his fleece, all in the most beautiful mahogany color.
Montano is full brother to Moonacre Novette.
At the NJ Show and Sale, Judge Wade Gease waxed poetic about Montano's fineness, "And did I say he was fine? No, REALLY fine!"
Montano now wholly owned by Coventry Falls Alpacas.
