PATAGONIA'S ERNESTO: Patagonia’s Ernesto is a magnificent light brown compact herdsire that improves every dam to her fullest potential. Before I purchased Ernesto, I bred numerous females to this dynamic male just to see what he could do. I discovered that I could take an average dam, breed her to Ernesto, and voila, he would produce a stunning offspring. This feat was proven when we had hundreds of the females assessed with their juvenile crias. Time and time again, the cria scored better than the dam so I knew I had something special going on with this male and one way to obtain improvement in the production of our breeding program. In many ways, Patagonia’s Ernesto has surpassed his one of a kind sire, Patagonia’s Lennox, and what Lennox has been able to achieve in his life-time. Ernesto’s dam, R&RR Irishea, is a light fawn from Ruth and Rodney Elvestad’s Canadian breeding program whose goal was to have lasting fine fleece, yet have the fleece to be the ultimate in density as well. Ruth operates Olds College in Canada working with fiber. Irishea is out of one of my very favorite males, CAVA Guivar Zorro, a true black import. He has many good breeding years left and would love to have the opportunity to prove it! PATAGONIA'S KALA Kala is a beautiful Nishio Granddaughter who produces show quality offspring time and time again. Her sire Patagonia's Vinci, is a full Chilean white male, who won 1st place at most of the major shows of 2004, including the International Alpaca Odyssey, North American Alpaca Show, All-American Futurity and the Great Western Alpaca Show. Offspring: On 9/26/2009, Kala gave birth to a lovely medium fawn female sired by Patagonia's El Vasco, a Neruda son known for his beautiful fleece that is fine and full of tight crimp. PATAGONIA'S LA MITA had top 25% EPDs in 2020. On 6/12/11, Kala had a pretty medium brown female out of our Patagonia's Ernesto, well known for his ability to stamp his positive traits onto each of his offspring. Their daughter (PATAGONIA'S REGALONA) received multiple ribbons, including 1st place at the 2013 AOBA National Alpaca Show, 1st place at the 2013 MAPACA Jubilee, 1st place at the 2013 Alpacapalooza, 1st place at the 2012 Northwest Alpaca Showcase, 1st place at the 2012 Alpacapalooza, 2nd place at the 2013 and 2012 GWAS shows. On 6/12/12, Kala gave birth to a handsome medium brown male also sired by our Patagonia's Ernesto. Their son (PATAGONIA'S FRANCO) won Reserve Brown Champion & 1st for fleece at the 2014 Northwest Alpaca Showcase, 1st place at the 2013 Northwest Alpaca Showcase, 2nd place at the 2014 GWAS, & 2nd place at the 2013 Alpacapalooza show. On 6/29/13, Kala had a dark fawn female also out of our Patagonia's Ernesto. Their daughter (PATAGONIA'S DARK SECRET) won 3rd place at the 2014 Southern Select Alpaca Show. On 8/3/2014, Kala presented us with a lovely medium fawn female sired by Patagonia's Ernesto, our Judge's Choice, 7x Champion & 5x Get of Sire award winning light brown herdsire. PATAGONIA ESTATES KANDI had top 10% EPDs in 2020. On 8/15/15, Kala gave us a gorgeous light fawn female sired by our exceptional 10x Champion, Patagonia's Antonio. Their daughter (PATAGONIA ESTATES KAITLYN ) won 2nd place at the 2016 CABA Classic. On 7/3/2017, Kala gave us a beautiful light fawn female sired by our outstanding Lennox son, Patagonia's Antonio. Antonio's offspring first hit the show ring in 2016 and continue to perform well on our show string.
