When I went looking for the right herdsire to bring into my light breeding program, I came across Northstar and was honored to be allowed to purchase 1/2 interest in him from Wings & A Prayer Alpacas. This boy has everything I am looking for to bring into my program! He is a BIG boy with great substance of bone. His fleece is not just white -- it is bright white! When I first opened him up he was a WOW! But what I like the most about him is his hand: it is slick, no drag, and very cool to the touch. And soft! He also has a presence that commands attention! No surprise that this guy was gonna be a superstar! His sire is champion and judge's choice producing Admirals Commandor and his dam's sire is the late legendary white Pucara Kahuna! Fortaleza is a beautiful girl! We especially love her head! She is the dam of Futurity Judges Choice winner H & S Double Portion. She is very spot on in her conformation, square and compact frame. Her sire is black which makes her very interesting. Although we have not bred her fro black she has good possibility of producing color. She has a brown spot on her lower leg, one way she is easy for us to spot in our white herd. Fortaleza's dam came out of the renowned LCA line and is an Inca daughter. Fortaleza's fleece is bright with a high degree of luster. We purchased her at the same time as we did WAP Northstar to get our white suri program going. She really knocked it out of the park in producing Double portion! She is a great mother with plenty of milk. She is also an easy keeper. She is being bred to 19 X Banner winner, H & S Mystery man for an August cria! We believe our success is in the success of our clients!!!

Description

Double Portion will start breeding this summer! From Norm Evans: His uniformity scan shows fiber clusters very uniform in placement within his connective tissue yet sometimes irregular in size and shape. His density measures 75.5 follicles SQ MM of skin and his S/P ratio based on 25 typical fiber clusters is 11.1 to 1. Note the small boxes that I show on his S/P scan the presence of derived or maturing 2ndary fibers that are still erupting. He grades 3 of 4 gland presence and with 90% of his 2ndary fibers showing a level of medullation, I would anticipate he may do well in the show ring. 100 typical 2ndary fibers average 19.8 microns while 50 typical primary fibers average only 25.7 microns. This figures and average micron spread of only 5.9 microns and an AFD of only 20.31 microns. Based on his fiber stats this male is set for a great future as a sire
